I know someone
A mother, a sister,
A wife, a leader, a teacher, a believer,
A giver, a worker for edification,
A beauty, an up-lifter, an inspiration,
As she held these positions, she seemed flawless,
Just 2 hands, 2 legs i promise,
She lived her life trying to improve yours,
The strength she drew from an unending source,
That type of strength is inhuman,
You know that, "In Christ I'm a new man",
That "If God be for us, who can
Be against us?" No man!
No cancer! Oh wait I guess cancer is a big deal,
Nah Mommy would say, "My God is real",
That trust in God to be looking out for your grown kids on your last bed,
Ma, even when you stopped eating, I know your spirit was fed,

They say Love is an action word,
Mommy, definitely active,
She gave and gave and loved with a passion,
She loved to learn and loved to edify,
She heard something good, now way she'd keep it inside,
Teaching was her job, but teaching was her life,
She lived righteously for God in hopes that you might,

Be strong,
It's tough, yea i know she did it,
She was able, cause she knew that He did it,
But I can smile, I can say thank you,
Thank you god for the perfect upbringing,
Thank you for the time she was living,
A sloppy kiss on the cheek,
You hated those, but my love runs deep,
Too deep for a peck,
I don't love you a little, I love you to death,
My heart ripped in two when i heard you passed,
I felt like no good feeling would ever again last,

I was wrong.
Everyday I think of you, something else makes me smile,
Though if i said I had tears of joy, it would be a lie,
Thankful for your life, but sad you died,
Just one more dance... sounds poetic,
One more hug, kiss, more like 7
hundred, I'd keep you for forever,
Mommy gave so much for me to better,
I would love to give back, though i couldn't repay,
I would love for the chance to make you a grandma and great,
Daddy, Ainsley Nova, Xavier, family, friends,

It just so happens to be my mother's birthday today (9/23/09). She passed away on 12/15/2005 and i think about her every day.
